Sukoon — Privacy Policy

Sukoon is an offline-first Islamic companion for prayer times, Qibla, Quran, Athkar, and worship tools. It works without creating a Sukoon account. Sukoon Team does not operate an advertising, tracking, or analytics service within the app, and does not collect your personal worship records through a developer-operated backend.
Information kept on your device
Depending on which features you use, Sukoon stores your chosen city or location coordinates and time zone, prayer calculation preferences and completion logs, Quran bookmarks and reading preferences, Athkar progress, saved supplications, worship goals, and notification and appearance settings. This information is used to deliver the features you choose and remains in local app storage, subject to Apple device-backup settings.
Location and maps
Location permission is optional. When granted, the app uses location while in use for prayer calculations, Qibla guidance, and to determine a city name. You may choose a city manually instead. Sukoon Team does not operate a background movement-tracking service. Apple's location, reverse-geocoding, and map services may process requests when used, subject to Apple's privacy practices.
Notifications
If enabled, prayer and other supported reminders are scheduled on the device using Apple's local notification system. Sukoon does not send push-notification tokens to a developer-operated server. Permissions may be changed in iOS Settings.
Network requests and third-party services
Core prayer calculations, Qibla bearings, and bundled devotional content are available without an app account or developer backend. When you view Apple Maps or use location lookup, your device may communicate with Apple. If a version of Sukoon supports streaming Quran recitation and you initiate playback, your device may connect to the relevant third-party audio provider. That provider may receive technical request information, such as an IP address and request time, according to its own retention practices. Locally bundled Athan recordings do not need an external audio host for playback. Sukoon Team does not sell personal data.
iCloud and backups
The current release branch uses local data storage and does not provide active cloud-account synchronization through Sukoon. Apple-managed device backups may include locally stored app data according to your device and Apple account settings. If optional cloud synchronization is introduced later, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be reviewed before release.
Your controls, export, and deletion
You can manually select a city and change location and notification permissions. From Settings → Privacy & Data, you can export the supported local records and preferences through the iOS sharing interface and delete supported personal records and settings. Exported copies are shared only with the destination you choose. Data in earlier exports or retained Apple device backups is outside the app's deletion controls. Uninstalling Sukoon removes its local app container, subject to Apple backup behavior.
Children's privacy
Sukoon Team does not knowingly collect children's personal information through developer-operated accounts, advertising, or analytics.
Support and changes
For support and general privacy questions, use the Sukoon Team support repository. GitHub issues are public, so do not share personal or sensitive records in support tickets.
We will revise the effective date and this policy when material data practices change.
